Etsy digital product guides built around the actual work

Research-backed guides for choosing, making, packaging, presenting, and describing digital products before an Etsy draft is published.

Short answer

Start with the decision in front of you. Choose a product and buyer, make the file, check the package, prepare accurate images and copy, add required disclosure, then review the Etsy draft. The guides separate Etsy rules, Listsy product defaults, and editorial recommendations so those categories are not confused.

Start with the guide that matches your next decision

You do not need to read the library in order. Pick the row that sounds like your situation, solve that decision, then move to the next one.

02

Make and package the file the buyer will receive

The product is the downloaded file, not the design canvas or mockup. Inspect the exported file, build the buyer package from an allowlist, extract it, and open the result before attaching it to a listing.

Etsy's attachment limits and supported formats are marketplace rules. Listsy's 3000 by 3000 RGBA PNG with transparency and 300 DPI metadata is a narrower product contract. The file guide and browser checker label those two standards separately.

03

Make every storefront claim agree with the package

Listing images explain the product, while the buyer ZIP contains it. A mockup can show a possible use, but it should not imply that a shirt, frame, mug, or other physical item is included with a digital purchase.

Titles and tags have field limits, but valid syntax is not keyword research. Write clear phrases that describe the actual item, state the digital delivery plainly, and compare every file-format and quantity claim with the package manifest.

04

Treat the draft as a review surface, not a finished decision

A draft readback can confirm the Etsy listing ID, draft state, and expected attachment counts. It cannot decide whether the category, price, rights, disclosure, search phrases, or thumbnail are right.

Open the draft inside Etsy. Check the buyer package, image order, first thumbnail, title, description, tags, category, attributes, price, disclosure, and shop settings before choosing whether to publish.

Turn one defined product into a checked draft

Listsy generates artwork from your brief, prepares the buyer file and listing assets, then uploads an Etsy draft for your review.
